The Espai Natura Fundació Sabadell 1859 will continue in October 2024 a new campaign “Do you want to learn to work a vegetable garden?”, transferring the use of a total of 30 plots to practice organic horticulture to the farmhouse of Can Deu de Sabadell.

The assignment of use is for a period of three months, but users will have the option to extend it in successive quarterly periods. The next shift will begin in October 2024. As a novelty, this year participants can register once the quarter has started and pay only the fraction of the price corresponding to the time they will enjoy the plot.

The allocation of parcels will be carried out by order of registration and depending on availability, no draw.

The characteristics

In 2024, the public will be offered the transfer of use of 30 plots to be dedicated to organic horticulture. “Do you want to work a garden?” It is open to all kinds of audiences, whether a lone gardener or a family or a group of friends of up to 6 people per plot.

The open hours to be able to work the plot are:

- Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

- Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 9:30 to 20h

The activity will allow users to enjoy a healthy and productive exercise, be able to consume their own seasonal vegetables and share the experience with the rest of the vegetable growers.

The registration fee will give the right to enjoy the transfer of use of a plot of about 28 m²for a period of three months and to continuous advice on organic horticulture. Vegetable growers will have tools and reeds for common use. Each plot has a water point with a meter for irrigation. The irrigation system within the plot is at the expense of the vegetable grower and it will be necessary to pay separately for the water consumed in the quarter.

You will be able to access the orchard space within the established hours to work there and harvest. Once the deadline is over, the vegetable grower will have the option to renew the assignment for a new quarterly period and continue to enjoy the fruits of the land and its effort.

The renewal of the transfer of use of the plot and the incorporation of new vegetable growers will take place at the beginning of each quarter, in the months of January, April, July and October.
