In Sabadell, much has been studied and talked about textiles, factories and the growth of the city from the industrial revolution, the workers' movement, economic history... but almost never has the final destination of the Sabadellen product been and is the final destination of the Sabadellese product, which has been and is clothing, both male and female, has been and is. Sabadell gets fashionable is the project of a large-scale exhibition - such as the one that the Antoni de Montpalau Foundation did, in 2019, at the Museum of History of Catalonia dedicated to couturiers - and aims to highlight Sabadell fabric from a new perspective, that of fashion, and its distribution and expansion around the world, without neglecting, however, the industrial structure and commercial and textile technique.

Based on some two hundred and fifty pieces of clothing, preserved in the collection of the Fundació Antoni de Montpalau, the exhibition proposes a tour of companies, tailors and couturiers, fashion designers, the garment industry and the schools of the city. This innovative perspective of how to look at fabrics made in Sabadell already converted into clothing and involved in the world of fashion gives a current, attractive and media reading.
