In this workshop we will approach Optical Art (Op Art) and we will play to create visual effects and optical illusions on paper. Op Art is a style of abstract art that relies on geometry and the perceptual qualities of color to achieve different visual effects. This art was born in response to a question posed by a group of artists in the mid-s. XX: How to create the illusion of movement and depth on a two-dimensional surface? From parallel, straight and curved lines, patterns and repetitive structures we will play with our perception producing the illusion of movement and depth on a flat surface.

This workshop is also held at the school itself.

Objectives:

• Enhance imagination, creativity and artistic expression.
• Discover the OP Art.
• Experiment with creating depth and movement from a drawing.
• Enjoy art as a creative process, based on a playful and experimental methodology.
• Enrich the visual culture.
