A total of 2,800 spectators have passed this year for the Fresc Festival, the Sabadell Summer Festival, which closed on Saturday with the performance of the play The Good Policeman. In relative terms, the fourth edition of the Festival has achieved a employment rate of 85 percentin the overall fifteen theatre, music and word shows presented at the Amphitheatre and Auditorium 3 of the 1859 Caixa Sabadell Foundation. On five occasions the poster of sold out seats has had to be hung while on five more occasions the sale of tickets has exceeded 90 percent of the available capacity.

“In view of this data We could not be more satisfied with this new edition of the Fresco. Both from the standpoint of audience response, in a particularly difficult year, and in terms of artistic results, we have made without any doubt the best edition of the Festival”, evaluates Joan Carles Sunyer, director of the 1859 Foundation, organizer of the contest with BBVA as partnermain.

The Fresc Festival 2021 opened on June 27 with a performance of the show The Spanish Gallardo, starring en Peyu, dedicated to paying tribute to the essential groups during the pandemic and attended free of charge by more than a hundred professionals from the health and social health fields and from the food, education and security sectors, among others. Among the names that have passed through Sabadell in recent weeks are Alberto San Juan, Beth, Cris Juanico, La Vella Dixieland, Joan Vázquez, Roger Maso Gemma Humet.

Major incident outside Sabadell

On the other hand, the analysis of the data of ticket buyers shows that 40 percent of the Fresco spectators are from outside Sabadell. Specifically, They come from more than 50 different municipalities. Barcelona and Terrassa, in that order, are the cities that bring the most public but the Sabadell Summer Festival brings together people from the two valleys, the Maresme, the Baix Llobregat and, even, from Anoia, Osona or La Garrotxa, among others.

“This proves the Strategic value of Fresco for Sabadell. We are in front of a festival that has an undeniable cultural value, but which also energizes sectors such as commerce and hospitality in the cityand that, therefore, is also an economic revulsion,” says Sunyer.

A very well rated festival

This year, a satisfaction survey was also carried out among the public, with the aim of analyzing the lines of improvement of the Fresco in the future. From the preliminary results of this survey (which is still open given that it is carried out by email the days after each show), a Highly appreciated by the attendees. Spectators of the Fresco rate their overall experience at the Sabadell Summer Festival with a 9 out of 10and the accessibility, the treatment received, the schedule of the shows and the programming stand out in particular, aspects that exceed 9 in the rating scale.

The public also gives a8.8 in the covid-19 containment protocol which has been applied this year and which included the use of the mask inside the Amphitheatre despite being an outdoor space, the physical distance between people, the reduction of capacity to 70 per cent and the use of hydroalcoholic ice, among other measures.

“We have made the best Fresco and we have done it in very difficult circumstances due to the health situation which, in addition, has undergone a considerable change while we had the Festival in operation. We are very happy with the resultsWhich, without a doubt, are avery good starting pointwith a view to the celebration, next summer, of the fifth edition” concludes Joan Carles Sunyer.
